In Term 4 we will be learning about Amazing Animals. See below for the Term 4 overview.
We've had a busy Term 3 with our topic of Once Upon a Time! The children have enjoyed retelling the stories of The Three Little Pigs and Goldilocks and The Three Bears. We are practising reading different digraphs/trigraphs such as qu, ch, sh, th, ng, ay, ai, ee, ea, oa, igh, ie, oo, ou, ow, ar, er, or, oy and oi. We've also been increasing our knowledge of numbers to 10 and beyond when adding two groups together. We've finished the last week learning about 2D and 3D shapes.
We have had another great term. The children did amazingly well in our nativity.
The children have made great progress this term. We have now learnt all of the sounds of the letters of the alphabet and our tricky words I, to, no, the, go. We are starting to sound out and blend to read simple words and sentences and also having a go at writing them.
We have been working on numbers 1-10, counting, making each number in different ways, putting them in order and recognising the numbers.
We hope that you have a lovely Christmas and see you in the new year!
We are really proud with how all the children have settled in to full time school this term. They are very much enjoying learning their phonics, so far we have learnt the sounds s,a,t,p,i,n,g,o,c,k and have learnt actions to go with each sound. We are beginning to blend these sounds together to make words. Any practising at home will always help your child embed their understanding.
We have been working on numbers 1 - 5, counting, making each number in different ways and recognising the numbers.
Hope you all have a spooky, happy and safe half term.
