Welcome to Red Class
KEY MESSAGES: Please ensure your child comes to school in suitable clothing (e.g. jumpers/coats when the weather is uncertain). We spend time outside every day, so it is vital that your child is equipped for the outdoors. Please send in a pair of named wellies for your child to keep in school. Thank you!
Red Class Staff
Mrs Tanner (Monday - Wednesday) and Mrs Otter (Thursday and Friday) are the Class Teachers and Mrs Osborne is the Teaching Assistant. We also have various additional adults that support Red Class across the week including Miss Jones, Miss England, Mrs Harris and Mrs Bendle,
Timetable
Here is an example timetable from Term 1 - Please note this does differ slightly each term.
Note: Reception children will be gradually introduced to assemblies once they are settled and ready.
PE days
Red Class have PE on Tuesday in Term 1. Please send your child to school in their PE kit on Tuesday and they will stay in it all day.
Home learning Folders
Your child will bring home a phonics folder with activities to practise at home. Please practise regularly with your child. Continued repetition of saying the sound (phoneme) and recognising the letter (grapheme) is vital to support your child in learning to read. New phonics home learning will be given out weekly so please ensure your child's phonics folder is in their book bag every Friday.
Once ready, your child will bring home a reading book matched to their phonic knowledge and a book to share with you. Please practise reading together at least five times per week.
